ServiceGeorgiaActemium offers various non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions with ultrasound. For more than 50 years, Actemium has supplied its customers worldwide in the steel, aerospace and railroad industries with customized ultrasonic testing solutions for material inspection.
The solutions may be standard designs, customized solutions, modernizations, and retrofits. Actemium is not limited to a specific type of inspection equipment. Mobile and stationary equipment can be designed to inspect various materials and geometries and fulfil the respective requirements.
Actemium remains in contact for the complete life cycle of the delivered systems – from commissioning and training to maintenance, retrofit or upgrade.
The SIRO-MAN ultrasonic inspection system reliably inspects discs, rings and shafts. These are then further processed and used in large gearboxes as well as ball bearings, e.g. in wind turbines.
Application: Ultrasonic testing of bearing rings and gears for wind turbines
Due to the high requirements of bearings for wind turbines, the rings are inspected with a SIRO-MAN at various stages of production. In the event of a material defect, this makes it possible to derive the appropriate steps at a very early stage in the manufacturing process.
Other rings are further processed into gears after ultrasonic testing with the SIRO-MAN. The inspection before the further processing of the rings makes it possible, for example, to set the milling contours in later production steps in such a way that the defect is no longer located in the component.
