Mechanical Testing & Inspection is done by tensile, impact, hardness, and other such methods of inspection are used to identify that material is under acceptable criteria for its determined use or function.
A wide range of tests are coved in mechanical testing and inspection, they are used to determine independent properties, geometry. It is difficult to find all properties practically as in tensile test some properties are influenced by test piece size and/or shape.
Mechanical testing is performed to determine the properties of the material that helps in measuring the estimated performance of the object or product manufactured. It also ensures that the material is in acceptance criteria of customer specifications, industrial standards, international standards, and other compliances. Industries need to confirm that the material they are using is suitable/correct and meets the customer’s specifications, industrial requirements, and international standards. ANDT also provides sample preparation by the American standards, British Standards, and other codes and specifications.

Microscopy is to see the microstructure of the surface and analysis of it is Microscopy Analysis. This helps to define the characteristics of a material or object and hence quality can be determined.
Microscopic analysis ensures product quality and integrity to meet industrial standards. As quality is on top priority to any industry to serve its customers in better ways, so microscopic analysis ensures the desired quality of the product and helps mostly in the research and development department of a company.
Microscopic analysis is important several times to identify processes and steps used in the preparation of a component or structure. It helps to identify some treatment such as heat treatment, welding, casting, rolling and other processes are applied correctly so that component or material meets industrial standards, customer’s specification, and other important requirements. In many cases, companies use microscopic analysis to patent their products so that other companies cannot copy and use their composition and structure. Through microscopic analysis objects, characteristics are captured in image form which shows grain size, phase distribution, structure, microscopic defects, and process through which the product is manufactured or prepared like forging, casting and rolling, etc.
Microscopic analysis is initiated by sample preparation to undergo microscopy, samples may be processed through any type of microscopic inspection as required and can be done from basic manual machine to advanced automatic machine.
